Magenta ivy, lining an old barn in Whatcom County, inspired this post. I love this time of year and the beautiful colors!

Finding the beauty in ordinary things
For $2.50, if you are in a group of 4, you can get into Stoney Ridge Farm, which is where I went with some friends and their children on Sunday (see Tugs at My Heartstrings post). Of course you’d have to be 5 to enjoy the bouncy house, but I had fun finding new subject matter – including this shed covered with pots and pans. The bag of donuts and hot spiced cider that Jenn and I bought weren’t bad either…
I was going to do a LITTLE editing before I went out tonight, and I most certainly didn’t plan on posting to my blog, but these pictures just tugged at my heartstrings, and I had to share.
Here’s the thing. I’ve been on the fence about having kids. But today, seeing all the families together at Stoney Ridge Farm, I had a few moments of weakness in which I felt I might be open to considering it. Is that non-committal enough? Ha.
These before and afters of my friend Jenn and her son Landen made me think I might be missing out on something.
