Naughty or Nice

Dear Santa,

If you find yourself in Bellingham, Washington on December 25th please bring the following:

  • A Nikon D300 and an assortment of lenses
  • Camera accessories including a tripod and camera bag
  • Something Irish
  • A personal trainer
  • A personal chef
  • A Land Cruiser
  • First quarter tuition

I know it seems like a lot, but it never hurts to ask.  You can’t receive if you don’t ask!

I will use these gifts for nice and not naughty. Well, mostly.   It would probably depend on how you interpret “something Irish”.

Thank you!

  1. Thanks, Heather. Although I think I want to amend this to say instead of something Irish, an actual plan ticket to Shannon airport. I think I need to be more specific with my ask fors.

I’m hoping to have that new Nikon by mid-January if “Santa” doesn’t bring it to me. 🙂

  2. I really love the simplicity of this close-up shot; it’s beautiful.

That’s quite a list you’ve got going, too!

I read over the comments, and I think I’m with you on the camera. I got a Canon Rebel last Christmas to get me started, but I have noticed I prefer the Nikon shots I’ve been seeing (but I’m really grateful for what I have). 🙂

  3. Good list. Hope Santa is nice to you. But I would ask for a Nikon D7000 instead of a D300. I recently got one (upgraded from the D60) and it’s been great so far.

  4. Nice list – good to aim high! 🙂

Willie recently bought a Land Cruiser (his dream vehicle). Has to do a lot of off-road stuff for his work, so I guess it justifies the cost . . .

Why Nikon and not Canon? I like both, so am just interested why people choose one over the other.

    1. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at a Canon if someone gave me one (or lent me one), they are good cameras. My first real camera was a Nikon though, and for a point and shoot, the color and clarity of the shots was amazing. If you go look at my ordinary things gallery, 90% were taken with it. I think it was just my first love, so that’s what I want. Simple.

I want a Land Cruiser because one day I want to drive around African deserts, and I need something I can rely on. I’d have said Land Rover, but chances are it’d break down on me. 🙂

      1. Land Rovers: Willie’s first 4X4 was a Land Rover. He spent many weekends working on it!

By the way, Willie was in your area a couple of years ago for a forestry conference. He came back with a lot of photographs . . . of trees!
