I am thankful for the Canon 40d I’ve been using, and that is because of my friend, David Williams. For some reason, he’s trusted me with this valuable piece of equipment, and I appreciate it probably more than he’ll ever know. When I eventually do save my pennies and buy my own DSLR, I’ll miss the 40d a lot.
Thanks David, for inspiring me and challenging me. Without you, I wouldn’t understand half of what I do about shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation. Even composition in general. You rock, coffee buddy!

Jolene, Jolene, where to start? I have no idea! You know I wouldn’t just loan out my 40d to just anyone (although, Cait will be using it after you “ever” get your camera 😛 ). Coffee buddy, hmmm, yea, that’s fitting! I know I wait and wait (for what seems like a freaking eternity) for 8:30 to finally roll around each morning just to head of to get some yummy liquid bliss, have I ever mentioned how much I dislike your “work from home Tuesdays”? 😀 I am thankful you are in my life too, looking forward to the future, to more photo walks (we need to go to NSH soon), new ventures, new relations, new sadness (helps us grow ya know). Okay, i’ll shoooosh now…

This photo is most intriguing. Have you melded two into one, or is the top part the top of the door? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
It’s funny–that’s how I got my start in the wonderful world of picture taking, too — by borrowing my brother-in-law’s camera for a few months. I felt grateful, just like you, that he would trust such an expensive piece of equipment to me. I’d be missing out on one of the highlights of my life right now if not for that.
This is actually one photo – shot from the top of the door down. It looks like there used to be some type of metal covering over the door, which is peeling away and rusted. The lighting was very low as well, so in the end I got this shot that seems like something other than what it is.
Good friends and relatives are definitely a blessing. One day I hope to be able to pay it forward.
